WHAT TYPE OF PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN?
I specialize in the motherhood journey (including maternity, newborn, and onward) and family sessions, specifically documenting the early parenthood years (children elementary school aged and younger).
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SHOOTING STYLE?
I love to capture raw emotion and in-between moments, so it's very rare that I ever overly pose my clients. My approach will typically involve a lot of motion, a lot of snuggling, and a lot of you just being...you. It's basically us just hanging out and having fun, only I have a camera and get realllyyyyy in your space. Now, there is understandably SOME level of posing and directing involved, but for the most part, I try my best to capture your story the way it really is.
YOU'LL BE ABLE TO EDIT THAT OUT, RIGHT?
Now that we're on the subject of editing, please know that I will never, ever edit a photo in a way that takes away from you as a unique, authentic human being. Yes, I will take care of some blemishes, acne, coloration, maybe a stray hair or two. However, I do not believe in altering the appearance of an individual beyond those smaller changes. There is no one in the world who is just like you or your loved ones, WHY would we try to change that?!
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY INVESTMENT?
All of my sessions include the session fee and a fully edited digital gallery with printing rights. I will send an in-depth styling guide immediately after booking, and also offer scouting and location selection assistance. Clients are guaranteed 35 images per session, however, I will deliver every image that meets my standards of quality. You also receive full access to my client wardrobe full of bump friendly dresses!
CAN I UPGRADE TO THE MOTHERHOOD PACKAGE LATER?
The motherhood package is a great way to capture your full story, and gives my clients a chance to receive a discount when they book their maternity and newborn sessions together. Once a session is booked, it cannot be upgraded and the full price of the second session will be upheld.
DO WE RECEIVE RAW IMAGES?
I think there’s a lot of misinformation out there about Raw images, and I’m so happy to get the chance to clear that up. Raw image files describe the type of file we are creating in camera when shooting, which are HUGE. In fact, these files are so large that most consumers won’t even be able to open the file with their standard computer software, and will have difficulties storing them. What some clients may actually be asking for is if they will receive unedited images. I actually do not send my clients ANY unedited images. I believe my clients hire me for the work I have produced and the quality standard that I uphold in all of my galleries. Unedited images are a poor representation of my brand, and not worthy of the investment you are making into hiring a professional photographer. If you have enjoyed the work you’ve seen so far, I can reassure you that you will receive the same quality and love with your final images.
MY PARTNER/LITTLE ONES DON’T LIKE PHOTOS, IS THAT OK?
Not to be braggy (is that a word) or anything, but I’m super proud of my ability to make sessions natural and fun. Trust me- I am probably the most awkward person in front of a camera. I totally get it. That’s why I work with you and your family to navigate the process, and capture your personalities and unique relationship without being pushy or asking you to do any poses or prompts that you’re uncomfortable with.
DO YOU SELL PRINTS?
Why yes, as a matter of fact I do! When you receive your gallery, there will automatically be a connected shop where you will be able to directly choose your print sizes and customize from a variety of products. If you are investing so much into preserving memories, I think choosing a solid printing company is a MUST. You are welcome to print from a company of your choosing, however, there is always something to be said about quality. I adore the printing lab that I partner with and could not recommend a better option for my clients. Plus, the pricing is really not all that different!
DO YOU HELP WITH STYLING YOUR CLIENTS FOR SESSIONS?
Yes! There is actually so much theory that goes into how your wardrobe choices affect the final outcome of your images, and I love sharing that information with my clients. Once you have booked with me, you will be given access to my personal styling guide that will help guide you in the selection of your wardrobe for your shoot. And of course, I'm always available to chat and bounce ideas off of!
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
My current turn-around time for session galleries is 4-6 weeks. However, if there is a rush, please just let me know and I can definitely try to accommodate for that (for a fee)!
WHAT IF YOU GET SICK OR CAN’T SHOW UP TO OUR SESSION?
If I am unable to show up to your session for ANY reason, I will of course offer a reschedule. If your session is time sensitive, I will provide an associate shooter to cover the session at NO extra cost to you. My associate photographers are all incredibly talented and experienced photographers that I have full confidence in to capture your story and serve you exactly as I would. The images will be promptly delivered to me and I will edit them to ensure that you get that same Local Nomad Photography style that you want.
WHAT IF WE DON’T WANT OUR PHOTOS SHARED ON YOUR WEBSITE OR SOCIAL MEDIA?
I’ll be super honest with you: the photos I capture from your sessions are the best advertisement and source of marketing I have for my business. I am always so thankful to the clients who allow their images to be shared to show what kind of work and service can be expected from my team. HOWEVER, I respect your wants and needs and will do what is needed to make sure you feel comfortable and respected. If you decide that you would prefer to keep your images private, just let me know and I will be sure to accommodate that request.
DO YOU SHOOT WEDDINGS OR ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?
As much as I LOVE weddings, I decided to take a step back and focus primarily on motherhood and family storytelling after having my babe in 2021. I DO still shoot engagement sessions, and would love to work with you, or provide some recommendations on amazing wedding photographers who will serve you well!
SOUNDS GREAT! HOW DO I BOOK MY SESSION?
I'm so excited to work with you! All I require to reserve your date and time is a signed contract and a non-refundable 50% retainer. I use a convenient online system that makes the whole process very easy and streamlined. Please note: the State of Texas requires the application of 8.25% sales tax to all sales. Your date is not considered booked unless the contract and retainer have been received. Full payments for all sessions are due two days prior to the session date.
